How Solar Works

MORNING

When the sun rises in the morning, the photovoltaic cells begin to convert sunshine into electricity.

AFTERNOON

Electricity usage varies throughout the day. The system may generate more electricity than is needed at certain times, such as when people leave their homes. This excess energy can be stored or returned to the utility company for other customers to use.

EVENING

After sunset, photovoltaic cells do not produce electricity.  Solar batteries store energy the system produced so it can be used at night(or on cloudy days, etc.).   If more power is needed beyond what the system generates, the system will rely on power from the grid.
